What a year this is shaping up to be!
We’re pleased to announce that the Port of New Orleans and the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad have joined SEBconnect, the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center’s online resource and mobile app. This means more opportunity than ever will be available right at your fingertips.
But that’s not all. Projections show that new construction at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is expected to generate over $50 million in new SEB and DBE contracts through 2026. The windfall of new opportunities is the result of the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority Board approving the largest guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for construction in recent history. In January, the Authority authorized the milestone $113.5 million GMP for Phases I and II. SEB and DBE contracts will capture 30% of this newly approved GMP. This contract, coupled with contracts previously executed for renovation project work, totals $136 million in construction improvements.
In this month’s profile, we invite you to hear from David Martin, Application Support Specialist/Developer, IT, and Cynthia Sperier, Assistant Director, IT at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Their team has been integral to the continued success of the SEB Program, and I am pleased to share their significant role with the greater New Orleans’ small and emerging business community!
Check back next month for more updates and feel free to contact me with any questions before then.
Have a great March!
LaToya Martin, CCA
