Message from the CDO
A Great Night in the Great Hall
Here at The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (NOENMCC), we have much to celebrate. We started the Memorial Day weekend off on a high note by hosting the third annual Morial Awards on Thursday, May 25th in the Great Hall. We want to take this opportunity to thank and to congratulate all the nominees, finalists, winners, and attendees.
As we do every year, we asked you to nominate those businesses that inspire and impress you – those that truly honor Mayor Ernest “Dutch” Morial’s legacy. This year, twenty small businesses and seven corporations were nominated – up from eleven small business and two corporations last year.
In the small business category, the winner was Iam Tucker, the President and CEO of Integrated Logistical Support, Inc. (ILSI Engineering), a successful and highly respected civil engineering firm. Under Ms. Tucker’s leadership, ILSI has achieved significant corporate milestones. What’s more, she has engineered positive change as a dedicated advocate for the City of New Orleans and the small business community.
In the corporation category, the Morial Award went to Ochsner Health, which has done much to improve the quality of life and provide access to care to previously underserved communities in our state. The health of our economy depends on the health of our citizens. Long live Ochsner!
We also want to give a shoutout to our finalists. In the small business category, congratulations to Calvin Mills Jr., founder and CEO of HELP IT/SLT Technology, and to Angela O’Byrne, president of Perez APC. Your efforts for our community have not gone unnoticed. And in the corporation category, Entergy was our finalist. Thank you, Entergy, for using your power for community good.
Please take some time to watch the videos from the awards ceremony in the profile section below and reach out to the winners and finalists with your personal congratulations when you can.
