Happy summer from all of us at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

You’ll be happy to learn that the SEB program hasn’t taken the summer off. In fact, there have been some major developments since our last newsletter. The biggest news is that our MoMENTOR mentor-protégé pilot program is now underway. This innovative program will assist in removing obstacles that have historically prevented the inclusion of SBEs and DBEs in local contracting opportunities.

The mentors and protégés are matched to build greater capacity and resources to the protégés. For the pilot program, Airware Transportation & Logistics will be mentoring Balthazar Electric and NANO, LLC will mentor B Interior Design Studio. See our profile on Brittany Barnes, the Principal Designer of B Interior.

MOMENTOR will include a development agreement, one-on-one periodic check-ins, group workshops, and more. Our proprietary readiness assessment will allow us to track the growth of our protégés and the overall outcomes of the program.
There are no fees to participate in the program and participating Mentors and Protégés may receive additional evaluation points toward the award of contracts. It’s a win-win!

We invite you to keep winning with us for the Q3 “WIN with MCCNO” event on Tuesday, August 29th at 10am in the Rivergate room, where the RDNI team will introduce their procurement process and the upcoming opportunities to the SEB community.

Thank you,
